Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)

Here is a list of resources if you’re looking to get formally assessed for ADHD, or learn more about neurodivergence and executive functioning.

If you’re looking to get a medical assessment for ADHD, they are available at the Adult ADHD Centre across Canada without a long wait, and for a much lower cost than other private-pay clinics.

For self- assessment, or to help you articulate the executive function challenges you’re having, please click to view the Adult ADHD Self-Report Scale.

ADHD Assessment (for medical diagnosis & treatment) across Canada at the Adult ADHD Centre

ADHD affects women differently. Women are socialized differently, and tend to be diagnosed later in life, which can drastically and negatively impact girls, women and AFAB people. If you’re interested in learning more about how ADHD impacts women specifically, please explore at www.adhdcentreforwomen.com.

I am listed as an ADHD coach & counsellor at ADHD Centre for Women/Professional Support.

Self-Care & building your support team

‘Self-care’ might be an over-used buzz word, but many of us struggle to make sure we eat, sleep, rest, and move properly.

There are many reasons why it’s hard for us to take care of ourselves and our mental, physical and emotional health. In a word, modernity is the source of our woes! And so it takes extra effort and intention to regularly connect with ourselves, our bodies, and our loved ones outside of our immediate home life or circle.

If you’re looking for resources on physical self-care, here is my local referral list, where you can find an up-to-date PDF of practitioners and resources to help you manage your physical well being.

As for social and emotional well-being, I suggest calling a friend, or checking out local community centres and libraries for low-cost community groups, events and classes if you need to expand your circle.
